YEDITEPE UNIVERSITY CONSULTATION AND COORDINATION CENTER FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES (CCOSD)
Yeditepe University Students with Disabilities Advisory and Coordination Unit was established on 25/11/2010 under the leadership of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Nedret Burçoğlu in order to expand and increase the support given to people with disabilities at Yeditepe University. This Unit, whose aim is to prepare the necessary academic environment to facilitate the learning lives of students with disabilities enrolled at our University and to ensure their full participation in education and training processes, is responsible for taking the necessary measures and making the necessary arrangements. This committee, which consists of faculty members from different units working in this field and a member from the Legal Affairs Unit, is chaired by the Vice Rector. In order to serve our students better and to provide easy access to the CCOSD Unit, the Rectorate has appointed a faculty member as a counsellor and a PhD student as a full-time counsellor assistant. The unit serves students with disabilities as well as faculty and staff.
The services provided to students in the field of education, training and examinations are carried out within the scope of Yeditepe University Students with Disabilities Counselling and Coordination Unit Regulation and Examination Directive.
Yeditepe University's mission in this field is to keep accessibility at the highest level. In this context, it pays attention to environmental arrangements and makes the necessary arrangements to increase the accessibility of its students, employees and visitors, and constantly renews itself within the scope of Barrier-Free Yeditepe.
Mission
To regulate the working procedures and principles of the Consultation and Coordination Unit for Students with Disabilities established at Yeditepe University in order to take the necessary measures and make arrangements in order to prepare the necessary academic environment in order to facilitate the learning lives of students with disabilities registered at Yeditepe University and to ensure their full participation in the education and training processes.
Objectives
To determine the needs of Yeditepe students with disabilities in various fields and the difficulties they face during their education and to provide services to meet these needs and eliminate the difficulties.
To develop and provide services for lecturers on the physical, academic and social support needed by Yeditepe students with disabilities.
To carry out and evaluate innovation studies that increase the level of awareness and sensitivity of university employees and students in the field of disability.
